Mo'os Chitim Group Makes Urgent
Plea for Funds for Passover Relief

A call for emergency help for
needy for Passover, through the
Mo'os Chitim committee, was
made this week by the commit-
tee's chairman, Charles A.
Smith, who asks that contribu-
tions be sent to him to his home
at 1935 Glynn Court.
Mr. Smith reports that 444
families were helped by the
Mo'os Chitim committee last
year—this number representing
an increase of 80 families aided
over the number provided for in
1948.
The committee expects that
the load will be even greater this
year. Each family is helped in
the amount of $15. Deficits have
been incurred by the committee
in the last two years and the

reserve now is gradually dimin-
ishing.
The Detroit Mo'os Chitim
Committee now is entering its
50th year of activity. Mr. Smith
succeeded to the chairmanship
his father, the late Louis Smith.
