DeKalb Ave., Brooklyn, New York. Rabbi Kornmehl, member
of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the U. S. and Canada,
personally inspected every source of the raw materials which
went into the making of Barton's Passover delicacies, super-
vised the kashering of the utensils, and the processing of the
items from start to finish. Barton's will present 32 Passover
delicacies this year. They may be ordered by mail at the Brook-
lyn address.

annual spring dance will be held
Sunday, March 19, at the Jewish
Center on Davison, it was an-
nounced by the dance commit-

An extensive SALUTE TO IS-
RAEL by American Zionists is
being prepared in pageant form
for presentation May • 11 at

Madison Square Garden in New
York, it was announced by the
Zionist Organization of America.
Participants will include many
headliners in radio and show
business, according to plans be-
ing readied by Dan Trotsky and
columnist Ed Sullivan, who will
be master of ceremonies. Fred
M. Monsson of Boston is honor-
ary chairamn.

BLACKSTONE, the famous
magician, comes back to the
Shubert Lafayette Theater for
an engagement of 10 days, be-
ginning Monday evening, March
13, and ending Wednesday eve-
ning, March 22, with matinees
on Wednesday, Saturday and
Sunday, March 19 and 22.

Mother's Food Products
Available for Passover

One food company making less
work for housewives this Pass-
over is Mother's Food Products
Co. of Newark. In January the
Mother's Food Plant was already
prepared for its Passover cook-
ing. Non-Passover items con-
taining flour, matzo meal, bar-
ley, etc., were removed. Rabbis
from the Union of Orthodox
Jewish Congregations of America
were called in and, under their
supervision, the plant was
scoured and checked to meet
Koshering requirements. Pass-
over food preparations went
ahead with representatives of
the Union of Orthodox Jewish
Congregations of America main-
taining constant supervision.
Gefilte fish, borscht, and fish
d'oeuvres are the Mother's Food
Products, kosher for Passover,
now on grocer's shelves every-
where.

PARIS — Protesting the deci-
sion of the Israel government to
bar the entry of Falasha (Ethi-
opian) Jews was filed by Dr. S.
Taamrat, cultural attache of the
Ethiopian legation in Paris, as-
serted that the Falashas "live in
strict accordance with the pre-
cepts of the Mosaic law and are
absolutely free of contagious
disease.

Announcement was made this
week in New York by Arthur
Lourie, Israel Consul General,
and Edgar F. Kaiser, Kaiser-
Fraser president, that an assem-
bly plant will start operating
next August in Haifa, Israel, for
the manufacture of 6,000 K-F
cars a year in the Jewish state.

JWB Increases 1950
Budget for Servicemen

NEW YORK—An increase of
$324,770 in the 1950 budget of
the. National Jewish Welfare
Board to meet emergency needs
for service to .personnel of the
nation's armed forces was an-
nounced by Frank L. Weil, JWB
president.
The increase, voted by the
JWB national executive com-
mittee as a direct result of the
deactivation of the United Serv-
ice Organizations (US0), brings
JWB's 1950 budget to a total of
$1,799,255. The emergency in-
crease represents American Jew-
ry's responsibility for morale
services to servicemen of all
faiths, Well said.
