In Masquerade Ball
This Sunday Evening

Northwest Hebrew Congrega-
tion Sisterhood and Men's Club
are presenting their annual Pu-
rim masquerade ball and dance
festival Sunday evening, March
12, at the Northwest social hall.
Feature of the evening will be
a colorful .dance festival, which
will include square clawing,
with Ruth Schulzinger as caller,
Israeli horas and special novelty
dances. Music will be provided
by the Can -Fenby ensemble.
The program will also include
community singing and prizes
for outstanding costumes. Purim
delicacies will be served,
The Purim ball committee in-
cludes Mesdames Norman Cott-
ler, Michael Galasky, J. M. Karo,
Jacob Levine, Joseph • Markel
and Nathan Maxman, for the
Sisterhood; and Dave Aaron,
John Allen, Emanuel Feinberg,
Zangwell Garber and Herbert
Harris, for the Men's Club.
The community is invited.

Arts, the program committee of
Temple Israel Sisterhood has
planned a dramatic presenta-
tion under the supervision of
interfaith chairnian Mrs. Louis
Glasier.
Sisterhood scribe, Mrs. Harry
Landsman, in charge of the
production, has written the
narration for a series of tableaux
depicting the "Book of Ruth."
With scenes portraying the Bib-
lical version, the script inter-
prets the present-day meaning
of friendship and community
co-operation. Mrs. Jacob Citrin
will narrate.
Mrs. Victor Bizer, choral
chairman, has arranged the
tableau music which will fea-
ture Bella Goldberg, vocal solo-
ist and Rosa Bassin Stein, pi-
anist.
Mrs. Abel Selburn is directing.

At the dessert luncheon meet-
ing of the Sisterhood of Sha-
arey Zedek, at 1 p.m. Monday,
March 13, Mrs. Morris Adler will
present "An Approach to Pass-
over," in the form of a work-
shop.
There will be a demonstration
of unusual Passover dishes, with
recipes in a colorful booklet.
Several members will set approp-
riate tables for the Seder nights.
Those taking part in the pro-
gram are: Mesdames Harry
Baum, Robert Brody, Ralph
Davison, Abe Katzman, Milton
Maddin, Irving Miller, Charles
Robinson and Charles Smith.
A special musical program has
been arranged by Dan Frohman,
music director of the synagogue.
