are vacationing for a month in Palm Beach, Fla.
Miss Marilyn Zimmerman, bride-elect of March 11, has been
feted at several pre-nuptial affairs. Showers were given for her
by Mrs. Jack Sylvan of Roslyn Rd. at her home. Mrs. Paul Silver,
Mrs. Albert Silver and Mrs. Barney A. Ross entertained at the
home of the latter. Mrs. David I. Silver feted the bride at the
Club Bali. The bride-elect's future mother-in-law, Mrs. William
Belinsky of Webb Ave. entertained at Huyler's. Miss Shirley Shep-
low gave a pantry shower at her home on Grand Ave. Mrs. Phillip
Bricker of Elmhurst Ave. gave an afternoon luncheon and the
bride-elect's grandmother, Mrs. Anna Silver, of Monterey Ave.,
gave a surprise dinner in honor of the bride's elect's birthday.
Arlene Ross, her cousin, entertained at a spinster dinner in her
oousin's honor at her home on Sturtevant Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Clement A. Hopp of Longfellow Ave. have re-
turned from Chicago, where they spent several days with their
song Clement Hopp, Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Fleishaker of West Eight Mile Road have
returned from a trip to New York City. While there they met
their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Fleishaker,
upon their return from Germany, where Mr. Fleishaker has been
in military service.
. Dr. and Mrs: Herbert Smith of Shrewsbury Road are vacation-
ing in New York City for 10 days.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Lewis of Birmingham are spending a
month in Clearwater, Fla.

end in Chicago visiting their children, Dr. and Mrs. Arthur A.
Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry W. Sacks of Dexter Blvd. are travelling
for a month in Mexico.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred W. Payson of Chicago Blvd. have returned
from a month's visit in Los Angeles and Palm Springs.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Mellon and daughter, Harriett Hope,
are vacationing in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Simons of Parkside Ave. are vacationing
for three weeks in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Blach of Birmingham, Ala., spent the
past week-end visiting their children, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Van
Baalen, Jr. and Chase Van Baalen of this city.
Miss Jeannette Kay of the Wilshire Hotel is spending several
Weeks in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Simon Meretsky of Windsor, Ontario, are vaca-
tioning in Hot Springs.

Mrs. Arthur Spiegel has returned to her home in Chicago after

Society to Fete Israelis
Mr. and Mrs. Yosef Apple-
baum of Tel-Aviv, will be guests
of honor at a dinner and Purim
celebration given by Mr. and
Mrs. Nathan Bobroff at a meet-
ing of the Bialystoker Aid So-
ciety. The affair will be held at
the Workmen's Circle. 11529
Linwood, at 7 p. m. Wednesday,
March 8.
Mr. Applebaum, a brother of
Mrs. Bobroff, is an engineer in
Tel-Aviv, now on a short visit
to this country. - At the dinner
hee-will discuss his personal ex-
periences and other aspects of
life in Israel.

iliary plan to attend the De-
partment of Michigan Ladies
Auxiliary meeting Monday eve-
ning, March 6, at the Memorial
Home, to honor Anna R. Abelow,
national president of the JWV
Auxiliary. At the March 20

pital party. The group voted to

fund. The next meeting will be

wishes from Mrs. Israel Gold-
stein, national president of Pi-
oneer Women and chairman of
the Labor Zionist Commission
on Halutziut and Youth, on the
eve of their departure for- Israel.
Mr. and Mrs. Malamud left
this country with the first group
of a Habonim pioneering con-
tingent which plans to establish
a new settlement in Israel.
The Malamuds were among a
large group of Detroiters who
sailed on the LaGuardia for - Is-
rael.
Others on board were Mrs. S.
Spencer Fishbaine, Osher Gold-
berg, Mrs. David Sislin, H. Zur-
