'With the appointinent of Al-
bert M. Colman as chairman of
the junior division in the forth-
coining 1950 Allied Jewish Cam-
paign, the program for junior
participation in . the e campaign
under way. -
Colman, who was a division
Chairman in the 1949 :drive, is
also chairman. of the community
Service committee, of "the Jew-
ish Young Adult Council, which
has responsibility for-the partic-
'ipation of young Jewish adults
in communal affairs.
Following the pattern used in
last year's campaign, Colman
will be assisted by two area
chairinen, Robert M. Feinberg
and Samuel Kaner, each of
whom will supervise the activi-
ties of six divisions.
In leading area A, Feinberg
will have as his division chair-

Elaine Rubach. Kaner's division
chairmen for area B are Allen

ion's campaign structure include
Leonard Baruch, advance gifts;
Robert Benson, special gifts; and
Estelle Levenson, organizations.
Judy Cowan is in charge of a
special division to handle soli-
citation on the East side. Turn-
back chairmen are Harriet Aik-
en and Fred Rowe. -
Arranging the publicity is a
committee of three, 'Shirley
Jacobson ; Sam Ross and Arthur
Schurgin.

Program Techniques
At Council Workshop

The Young Adult Council, in
ecoperation with its community
service committee, is sponsoring
its second annual workshop on
the Allied Jewish Campaign, for
presidents and program chair-
men of the 26 affiliated youth
organizations, on Sunday after-
noon, Feb. 19, at the Woodward
Center. -
The program starting at 2
p.m., will show different meth-
ods of conducting programs on
the theme of the campaign.
Natalie Gaines, who heads the
workshop program, announced
that all, interested youth are in-
vited to attend, so that the mes-
sage of the Campaign can be
spread as far as possible. Irwin
Shaw of the Jewish Welfare
Federation will act as resource
person. A panel of youths will
analyze the different services
that are provided by money
raised through the Allied Jew-
ish Campaign.

Northwest Youth Club

Plans Sweater Party

AV! Holds Convention
In NY This Week-End'

The first convention of Amer-
ican Veterans of Israel is con-
vening this weekend at the Ho-
tel Astor in New York. Jack
Erringer, secretary of the local
chapter, and Detroit delegate,
will report to the membership
at the Feb. 26 meeting.
All individuals who fought in
the 'Israel ariaied forces are re-
quested to attend the meeting,
place of which will be announc-

To Select Queen Esther

The Young People's Society of
Sharey Zedek has completed
plans for their Queen Esther
Dance, to be held in the social
hall of Shaarey Zedek on the
evening of Feb. 25.
Chairman SO1 Glosser has an-,
nounced that a queen will be
chosen from among the young
women present.
Bill Gail and his orchestra
will play. Members of YPS will
be admitted free of charge.

The BETH TIKVAH SUNDAY
SCHOOL, sponsored by the
Sisterhood of the congregation,
still has openings for students
aged three to 14. All neighbor-
hood . children are invited to
participate. -

courses at Wayne University is
at an all time high for a mid-.
year term," stated Rabbi Morris
Adler, chairman of the culture
commission of the Jewish Com-
munity Council.
Courses in Hebrew offered at
Wayne are available to all stu-
dents and credit towards gradu-
ation is given for Hebrew. Any
student may, upon examination,
register in one of the. advanced
Hebrew courses and receive
credit for elementary courses
merely by passing an. examina-
tion.
