Egyptian government has set
two conditions for peace with
Israel, it was learned from au-
thoritative sources. These are:
1. Israel must accept all Arab
refugees living in the Gaza strip,
along the Egyptian border, since
the Cairo government is now
willing to return this area to the
Jews; 2. Israel must not recog-
nize Jordan rule over any part
of Palestine.
In Tel Aviv, a government
spokesman, commenting on "per-
sistent reports of eventual Is-
rael-Egyptian peace talks in the
near future„" repeated the Jew-
ish state's readiness to enter in-
to such discussions with any
Arab neighbor. He said that "no
official - opening has as yet been
made by Egypt."
