Active in Civic Events

Representatives of the League
of Jewish Women's Organiza-
tions are participating in a var-
iety of civic events.
Mrs. Robert S. Drews repre-
sents the league at the annual
program planners' meeting of
the volunteer committee, Coun-
cil of Social Agencies. Mrs. Louis
Glasier is working with the
steering committee of the Round
Table of Catholics, Jews and
Protestants, planning a second
series of friendship teas.
Mrs. Samuel B. Danto is as-
sisting with the Round Table
Brotherhood concert, to be held
Feb. 23 at Rackhain auditorium
as well as with the annual meet-
ing of the volunteer committee,
Council of Social Agencies.
The League has set Monday,
Feb. 13, for its rally honoring the
Women's Division of the Jewish
Welfare Federation. All women's
organizationS are invited to
send members to the meeting:
at 1 p.m., at Temple Beth El.
Members of Sisterhoods affiliat-
ed with the League will be hos-

Joint Culture
Committee Plans
Music Month Show

A Jewish Music Month pro-
gram will be presented by the
Joint Yiddish Culture Commit-
tee of the Jewish Community
Council and the Jewish Com-
munity Center, at 8:30 p.m.,
Sunday,. Feb. 12, in the audi-
torium of the Main Center.
The program will feature the
Jewish Center Symphony Or-
chestra conducted by Julius
Chajes; the Center Dance Group,
in a progrm of Yiddish and
Israeli dances; Jerome Stasson,
violinist, accompanied by Betty
Kowalsky.
Cantor Saul Kirschenbaum of
the Jewish Center of Cleveland,
will make his Detroit debut on
this occasion.
Tickets have been distributed
to an Yiddish-speaking organi-
zations. Tickets also may be
purchased at the door.
