pletion of 50 years' service as a
religious counsellor at Columbia
University by RABBI ISIDOR
HOFFMAN was hailed at cere-
monies attended by Gen. Dwight
D. Eisenhower, president of Co-
lumbia. Gen. Eisenhower gave
what he termed a "soldier's sa-
lute"to Rabbi Hoffman. At the
same time, the 20th anniversary
was marked of the establishment
of the Seixas Society, Jewish
fraternity organization at Co-
lumbia.

of America, announced appoint-
ment of IRVING GALT, of New

York, as national co-chairman
for the organization's current
drive to enlist 1,000,000 shekel
registrants.

DR. HERMAN FOON announces
the opening of his offices at
112 Monroe, for the practice of
optometry. A graduate of North-
ern Illinois College of Optometry,
Dr. Foon spent several months
prior to graduation doing re-
search work in visual aids
under Dr. Carl F. Shepard, at
the National College of Educa-
tion, Evanston, Ill. He is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Foon
of 2664 Elmhurst. •

Ardmore was named Red Feather
Volunteer-of-the-Week for his
work at the Boys' Club and the
Downtown YMCA. Dr. Feinberg
tests- members' eyesight; without
charge, to help avoid maladjust-

eyesight: Dr. Feinberg also has
done volunteer work during the
summer at Neighborhood House
and at social service agencies in
Chicago where he formerly lived.
