Detroit Women of AJC to Present
Tolerance Play, 'If We Choose'

The Detroit Women's Division
of the American Jewish Con-
gress, will present the premier
of "If We Choose," a play writ-
ten by Mrs. Harry Landsman
and directed by M r s. Philip
Frank, at a matinee perform-
ance at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday,
Jan. 18, at the main auditorium
of the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Mrs. Wm. Gottesman. divi-
sional vice president of pro-
gram, announces that the cast
includes: violinist, Marilyn Kap-
lan; accompanist, Sylvia Barr;
narrator, Esta Frank, and Mes-
dames Harry Morris, Jack Bean,
Ed. Zatkin, Albert Silber, Nor-
man Ginsberg, Philip M a n n,
Percy Newman, Win. Glazer.

nounces an "Israel" evening,
Thursday, Jan. 19, 8:30 p.m., at
Berenotzer Hall, Linwood at
Davison. Albert Elaz.a.r, associ-
ate superintendent of the United
Hebrew Schools of Detroit, will
speak on the topic: "The Mean-
ing of Jerusalem to the Three
Great World Religions." His
lecture will be accompanied by
slides of the widely discussed
holy places of the eternal city.
Membefs of all Jewish refugee

extraordinary, will perform for
PISGAH LODGE Bnai Brith, at
8:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at
the Jewish Community Center.
In addition to the hypnotic acts,
the Lodge will present a program

member, and for workshop ses-
sions to follow.
Registration is at 9:45 a.m.,
and will be followed by brunch,

chairman of the Detroit Divi-
sion, will preside. Roslyn A.

has charge of the program.

has become known in the
community for her near-pro-
fessional musical productions
for the Infants' Service Group.
The next show, "Jamboree"
will be presented as the fea-
ture of the organization's ben-
efit dinner-dance Sunday eve-
ning, Jan. 22, at the Foun-
tain Ballroom of Masonic
Temple. Members and their
husbands will be featured in
the cast. Mrs. Moe Gantz and
Mrs. Eve Sherman, with Hy
Krupp and Saul Golden have
been assisting Mrs. Riseman
with skits and choral work.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lightstone

the engagement of their daugh-
ter, Lenora, to Zalman T. Ko-
nikow, son of Mr. and Mrs.
