NEW YORK, (JTA)-Israel Foreign Minister Moshe
Sharett emphatically declared Israel will not cooperate in
any attempt to implement the resolution of the UN Trustee-
ship Council asking the Israel government to "revoke" the
transfer of its offices from 'el Aviv to Jerusalem. There is
a question whether the Council is entitled to address such a
request to any government, Sharett said.

Israel Govt. Studying
Legality of UN Order
LAKE SUCCESS, (JTA)-The
Israel Government is now study-
ing the legality of the resolu-
tion adopted by the UN Trustee-
ship Council requesting that Is-
rael "revoke" the transfer of its
government offices from Tel
Aviv to Jerusalem and abstain
from any action liable to hind-
er implementation of the deci-
sion taken by the General As-
sembly to place Jerusalem un-
der international trusteeship.
A statement to this effect was
made by a spokesman of the Is-
rael delegation.
"Israel," he said, "is studying
whether the trusteeship council,
whose authority is derived only
from trust agreements with
'governments, has the right to
interfere in a sovereign area not
yet placed under a trust agree-
ment."
The Trusteeship Council be-
gan a month's vacation hope-
lessly divided on the Jerusalem
issue.
Some of the members of the
council who abstained from
voting were reported to have

lief that the Truiteeship Coun-
cil was not empowered to issue
its directive to Israel.

Turkish Aide Says UN
Decision is `Wrortg'
.ISTANBUL, (JTA)-Husseyin
Djahid Yaltchin, Turkish mem-
ber of the UN Palestine Con-
ciliation Commission, told the
press he considers the UN de-
cision to place Jerusalem under
international trusteeship "wrong
and inapplicable." He said that
the UN will have to modify its
decijon on Jerusalem in the
near future. Recent events have
already proven that the deci-
sion could not be carried out, he,
added.

LONDON, (JTA)-The Haifa
refineries suspended all work
and 400 workers were discharged,
Reuters reported from Israel.
The action was due to the
impossibility of getting supplies
of crude oil which had to come
from South America and be
paid for with dollars, the report
said.
The refineries, owned by Con-
solidated Refineries of London,
closed down originally when th
British Army evacuated Pales-
tine. Two months later they
,,were taken over by Israel au-
thorities who returned thelli to
British management last March:
