Young Adult Council Groups Plan
City-Wide Hanukah Event Sunday

Members of Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity and Rebecca

Gratz Chapter of Bnai Brith Young Women are rapidly corn-
pleting arrangements for the city-wide Hanukah celebration
which they are sponsoring for the Young Adult Council. The
event will take place at 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at the Jewish
Center.
Working on a script for the dramatic presentation for
that evening are, left to right, MITCHELL TENDLER, EVELYN
STOLLMAN, chairman of the Council holiday projects corn-
mittee, JEANETTE KROLL and ESTELLE LEVINSON. Dancing
will follow, with music by Norm Gladstone's band. All young
adults of the community are invited to attend.

Inter-Congregational Youth
Council presents "Sleighbell
Frolic" at Ingleside Riding
Academy, Saturday evening,
Dec. 17.
A sleigh ride, followed by
dancing and refreshments in the
clubhouse is ion the agenda.
Couples meet at Hampton
School at 7:30 p.m. They will be
given directions on how to reach
the academy, and those not
having rides may obtain them.
Young groups of the following
congregations comprise the
Bnai David, Cong.
Shaarey Zedek, Northwest He-
brew Cong., Temple Beth El and
Temple Israel.
Sid Kleinman, temporary
chairman of the council, is man-
aging the "Sleighbell Frolic."

girls) will mark Junior Hadas-
sah's celebration of Hanukah, at
the home of May. Cohen, 2989
Collingwood, at 8 p.m., Monday,
Dec. 19.
Games, songs and Hanukah
story telling will be followed by
a latke party. All members are
invited.

cam aign continues successfully
and the display is still on ex-
hibit at the Dexter Delicatessen.

The Young Adults of Young
Israel will be host to the gen-
eral Young Israel organization
and friends, at a Hanukah din-
ner party, at 7 p.m. on Saturday,
Dec. 17, in the Young Israel
Youth Center.
The event will feature the in-
stallation of officers of the
young adult group. Rabbi Sam-
uel H. Prero, rabbi and director
of Young Israel, Will conduct
the installation ceremonies.
Officers to be installed are:
Louis Harris, president; Ruth
Bodzin, vice-president; Seymour
Ribiat, treasurer; and Hinda
Penfil, secretary. A member of
one of the youth groups will
recite the blessing for the third
Hanukah candle prior to the
dinner. Following the dinner,
traditional games will be played.

Young Hebraists
Entertain Kvutzah

The Chug Ivri, young people's
Hebrew-speaking circle of De-
troit, will be in charge of the
traditional Hanukah celebration
of Kvutzah Ivrith, at 9 p.m.,
Saturday, Dec. 1'7, in the Rose
Sittig Cohen Bldg.,
The program will consist of
the lighting of the candles by
Rabbi G. Goldberg, followed by
opening remarks from Morrey
Selborn, president of the Chug
Ivri. Abraham Kravitz will
speak on "The Maccabees of Old
and the Maccabees of Today."
Mrs. Drora Kleinplatz will
offer vocal selections and Mrs.
Miriam Fishbeine will recite
Hebrew poems. A choral read-
ing, "Hamisnadvim," also has
been prepared.
Highlight of the evening will
be a humorous play on life in
Israel with the following Chug-

Masada Meeting Hears
Convention Delegate

Following the success of its
fund-raising millionaire's party,
Masada will hold its next gen-
eral meeting, at 8:30 p.m. Thurs-
day, Dec. 29, at Shaarey Zedek.
The affair will be for members
only.
In addition to a featured
event, there will be the regular
newscast, dancing and refresh-
ments. Dr. Samuel Krohn, De-
troit representative to the na-
tional convention, will present
his report. The members also
will hear a report on the cur-
rent negotiations underway be-
tween Detroit Masada and the
local ZOA district.
On Jan. 15, the Masada has
scheduled a talk by the press
relations officer of the U.S. dele-
gation to the United Nations.
