At Hanukah Event

will have a Hanukah party and
reception for Chaver Philip
Slomovitz, editor of The Jewish
News, who recently returned
from Israel, on Sunday, Dec. 18,
at the auditorium of the Labor
Zionist Institute, 13722 Linwood.
Slomovitz will tell the inside
story of the struggle of Medinat
Israel, its achievements and the
problems it is confronting.
A musical program has been
arranged for the occasion. Re-
freshments will be served.

Driker to Address
Sholem Aleichem

Jack Driker will be guest
speaker at the Oneg Shabbat
of the Sholem Aleichem Insti-
tute, at 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16,
at 3754 Monterey.
Driker, a sociology student at
Wayne University, was chosen by
Dr. Joseph Eaton as his assis-
tant in a survey made by the
University on the life and habits
of the Hutterite colonies in
Montana, Dakota and Canada.
Driker's subject will be: "The
Hutterites: A Study in Controlled
Assimilation."
The lecture will be given in
English. Suitable Sabbath songs
and readings will be included in
the program. All are invited.

accepted an invitation from the
executive of the Jewish Agency
to participate in its plenary ses-
sion which will open Jan. 12 in
Jerusalem.

Detroit group of Kibbutz Bo-

Dec. 8, at the home of Hersh
