and Mrs. Eugene H. Laster of
Sturtevant Ave. announced the
engagement of their daughter,

son, son of Mr. and Mrs. • Nate
L. Natelson of Burbank, Calif.
The bride-elect attended
Wayne University and is now at-
tending the University of . Wis-
consin. Her fiance is a resident
physician in internal medicine
at the University General Hos-
pital at Madison, Wise., and is
a member of Phi Delta Epsilon,
national medical fraternity.
A March wedding is planned.

Young Judea Invites
Community to Hanukah
'Fun Night' Thursday

Clubs

Pisgah Lodge celebrates Han-
ukah with a "Four Star p r o -
gram," party at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 19
at the Jewish Community Cen-
ter. Rabbi Herbert S. Eskin, na-
tional chaplain of the Veterans
of Foreign Wars, will be the
principal speaker. The Jewish
Folk Chorus will render tradi-
tional Hanukah songs, under the
direction of Henri Goldberg, and
accompanied by Rose Bassin
Stein. Rev. David Katzman, can-
tor of Cong. Bnai Moshe, will
chant -the Hanukah candle rit-
ual prayer. Latkes and tea will
be served. Members, their family
and friends are invited.

will meet with the lodge Monday

On Life in England

"Jewish Life in England
Today," will be the subject dis-
cused by Mrs. Nicholas Fenakel,
wife of the cantor of the North-
west Hebrew Cong., who re-
cently arrived from London, at
an Oneg Shabbat at the home
of Mrs. Sam Pernikoff, 17345
Northlawn, Saturday., at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Herbert L. Harris will
offer the opening prayer, and
Mrs. Maurice Karo will speak on
current events.
The teaching quartet of the
Northwest Sisterhood choral
grobp, directed by Mrs. Joseph
M.- Markel, will lead the group
in songs.

p.m., Women's Sabbath League
will .give a Hanukah luncheon
and festival program at Cong.
Bnai Moshe, Dexter at Lawrence.
Members and friends are invited.
The afternoon will feature pres-
entation of Hanukah gifts to all
pre-school children present with
their mothers.
Featured on the program will
be the choral group of Bnai
David Sisterhood directed by
Cantor Hyman J. Adler, pre-
senting a candle lighting cere-
mony and songs of Hanukah and
Israel.
The story of Hanukah will be
told by Mrs. Leizer Levin in Yid-
dish and Mrs. David J. Cohen in
English.
Mrs. Lillian Kaplan, assisted
by the social committee, is in
charge of luncheon arrange-
ments and Mrs. A. 0. Barsky is
in charge of hospitality. Mrs.
Joshua Sperka will preside.
