Detroit calls for much leg worki,
on part of Mrs. Samuel S. Aaron
and Mrs. Morey L. Rosenthal

• • • These ladies deserve a lot
of credit for their untiring ef-
forts in behalf of this worthy
project . . . All leads on avail-

received by Esther Adler at the
Resettlement Service . . . but
the job doesn't end there . . .
Every lead must be followed up
to see if it will provide suitable
quarters for some refugee fam-

still weak and shaky . . . glad
to haVe been finally freed after
these many years of penal re-

obviously committed by some-
one else . . . He is unable to
get around too much . • . and
must recuperate from his weak-
ness before taking employment
. • . About his wife, - it was on
his suggestion that she divorced
him , . Gross has a daughter
who now should be about 21

FRED SWEET, assistant man-
ager at Telenews Downtown,
wrote for tickets to "South
Pacific" and received kind reply
that earliest consideration could
be for next April .. . . Not
one to give up, Fred sent let-
ters, to entertainment big shot,
friend . . . telling that he was
being wed, Dec. 4, and that he
and his wife-to-be (Fay Moss)
would like to see "South Pacific"
on their honeymoon Back
came - the friend's reply . . .
"Dear Fred. I'd gladly move the
Empire State Building for you,
or 'empty out the Hudson River
if you 'asked me to. But tickets
to see South Pacific on your
honeymoon? That's asking the
impossible!"

Harry ... Mrs. Ed. Rossman told
him that the eclair won't last
until Hanukah . . . and little
Harry calmly replied, "That's

MRS. HAROLD EIDELMAN, 2704 Fullerton, was one of
many housewives whose purchase of cranberries last week
aided the Detroit Israel Histadrut Campaign. NORMAN COT-
TLER (left) , owner of the market at Dexter and Davison
bought 15 boxes of cranberries in an auction of a carload of
the fruit at the Detroit Union Produce Terminal, which netted
the Histadrut drive $15,000. Additional proceeds from retail
