Shaarey Zedek Opens Adult Institute; Epect Record Enrollment Dr. Leonard Sidlow, chairman, committee on education, an- nounced that the 1949-50 Adult Institute of Jewish Studies of Cong. Shaarey Zedek will- open Tuesday • evening, Nov. 22. The Institute will be conducted for 20 consecutive Tuesday evenings between 8 and 10 p.m., offering ,12 courses in Hebrew, Bible, Yid- dish, Jewish History, Modern Jewish Life, the Legacy of the Jewish Past and Psychiatry for the Normal. The instructors include Rabbi *Morris Adler, Jay Bodzin, Rabbi Jacob Chinitz, Prof. Joseph W. Eaton, Dr. S. Joseph Fauman, M. Goldoftas, Mrs. Samuel Lehr- man, Sol Panush, Dr. Norval Slo- bin, Samuel Sigal and a number of authorities in psychiatry and human relations. Last year Shaarey Zedek In- stitute attracted over 600 stu- dents. It is • expected that en- rollment may reach a peak of 1,000 this year. The Institute is free and open to all men and women of the community. No tuition is re- quired for courses. A . nominal registration fee is required to cover incidental expenses. The. Confer ence, which concluded' two days of meetings here, was held tinder the sponsorship of the American Committee on the Christian Ap- proach to Jews. Scottish Church to Use Israel Sabbath Prayer JERUSALEM (ISI)—The head of the Scottish Church in Israel, the Rev. Mr. Morrison, visited the Christian Department of the Ministry of Religions to procure the text of the prayer for the peace of the State of Israel which is repeated every Sabbath in the synagogues. Dr. Bernard Bamberger, Coun- cil president, said "more than 2,000 rabbis throughout the country will invoke God's help to protect 130,000 people repre- senting one of the most ancient and devout Jewish communities in the world.
