New Detroiter Registers Son at Yeshiva

ISAAC SANDAU, a recent arrival in Detroit, registers his
son, Eliezer, 4, in the nursery of Yeshivath Beth Yehudah. In-
terviewed in Germany by a Joint Distribution Committee
worker, Sandau at first hesitated to come to the United States
because he feared he could not raise his son in the ancient
Jewish traditions. Informed that facilities for such an educa-
tion existed in Detroit, he emigrated directly here. Sandau, a
shoemaker, livet at 143 Calvert, in a flat maintained by the
Resettlement ,Bureau. He expects to continue his craft here,
with the aid of the Resettlement Bureau annd Jewish Voca-
tional Service.
