German City Denies
Jew Hospital Post

FRANKFURT — (JTA) — The
Offenbach city administration
denied a report by the inde-
pendent "Frankfurter Rund-
schau" here that it has with-
drawn the nomination of a Jew-
ish physician to be head of the
city's women hospital because of
his racial origin, Reuters re-
ported.
The city administration offi-
cially declared that "purely ob-
jective" reasons had caused the
final nomination of another
candidate. The paper had claim-
that the deputy mayor, Dr. A.
Kasperkowitz, had protested
against the nomination of the
Jewish physician—Dr. Herbert
Levin—on the grounds that
"Offenbach women could not be
expected to be handed over to a
Jewish physician as one has to
take into consideration that he
has resentments against non-
Jewish persons.

Louis Hollander, at a luncheon

their victims in Israel."

We wish to extend our
sincerest greetings to all
our friends and relatives
and to the entire Jewish
community on the occasion
of the challenging New
Year 5710. The great hap-
penings in Israel resulting
from the creation of the
Jewish State are a source
of pride to Israel's kin
everywhere. They call for
renewed effort in assuring
Israel's security. At the
same time, the battle for
justice and human rights
continues throughout the
world. May the New Year
witness the realizations of
all human aspirations for a
better world and for peace
for all mankind.
