"A 2,000-year-old dream come
true," was the characterization
given Israel by Mrs. Saumel
Halprin, national president of
Hadassah, speaking to hundreds
of members of the Detroit
Chapter of the organization at
its opening luncheon Sept. 13.
Implementation of this dream
on the part of the general mem-
bership was urged by Mrs. Theo-
dore Bargman, Detroit chapter
president, and Mrs. Alf r e d
Meyers, who is heading the cur-
rent Honor Roll campaign. The
need for gifts of small amounts,
given by large numbers of wom-
en was pointed out, as well as
contributions by large givers.
An added impetus to the gen-
eral solicitors in the drive has
sent the percentage of slips
covered soaring, and at this
point Mrs. Meyers states the
campaign seems well underway
to a successful conclusion.
