British Authorities Evict
German Jewish Families

LONDON, (JTA)-The World
Jewish Congress has protested
to the British Government
against an order by the British
occupation authorities in Ger-
many evicting six Jewish fami-
lies in Junkerbors, near Cologne,
from their homes in order to
make billets available for Bel-
gian troops being brought into
the town.
A similar protest will be placed
with the Belgian Government,
and representations have been
made to General L. Bishop,
British military commaader in
Germany, by the Central Com-
mittee of Liberated Jews.

MRS. ETHIEL JACOBSON, 82,
a former Detroiter, died Sept. 5
in Los Angeles, where she was
making her home. She is sur-
vived by her sons, Jack of New
York, Samuel of Detroit, Harry,
Nathan and Morris of Los An-
geles; daughters, Mrs. Sarah
Abramson, Mrs. Milly Mathis,
Helen, and Ruth of Detroit; nine
grandchildren, and two great-
grandchildren.

who was • born in Huntington,
Ind., 61 years ago and lived in
Detroit for 30 years, died Sept.
7. Funeral services were held
Sept. 9. Burial, Beth El Ceme-
tery. He was a member of.
Temple Beth El, Recess Club, the
Park Club of Kalamazoo and a
32nd Degree Mason. He is sur-;
vived by his wife, Goldye; two
daughters, Mrs. Joseph Davidson
and Mrs. Roberr D. Grossman; a
son, Irving; three sisters, Mrs.
,Jack Primakow, Mrs. Robert
Aaron and .Mrs. H. Schubach,
and a brother, Norman. He was
a businessman in Three Rivers
and Detroit.

of 9600 Dexter, a native of Lon-
don who lived here 15 years, died
Monday. Services were held Wed-
nesday at Kaufman Chapel.
Burial was in Kalamazoo. Sur-
viving are a son, Albert; a
daughter, Mrs. Julius Bock; her
mother, Mrs. Kate Weisman;
three brothers and three sisters.

William Sandier of 2497 W.
Euclid, prominent Detroit leader,
former president of Congrega-
tion Beth Tefilo Emanuel, died
last Saturday at the age of 65,
after a brief illness. Funeral
services were held Sunday at
Kaufman Chapel on Dexter.
Burial was in Beth Tefilo Ceme-
tery.
President and co-founder of

Sandler was active in many
community movements. He was
secretary of the board of the
Jewish Home for Aged and a
member a Pisgah Lodge and
the Zionist organization.
He is survived by his wife,

dore Wayne; three sisters, Mrs.
