Sept. 12 has been set as the
deadline for ticket and seating
arrangements for High Holiday
services at Beth Aaron Syna-
gogue. Members are advised to
contact the ticket committee by
that date.
Max Kaminsky will serve the
congregation as Baal Shachris
for the holiday services. Rabbi
Pinchos Katz will be assisted, by
lay members of the congrega-
tion, led by Dr. Marvin Last,
president, in reading' the_English
portions of the Musaf service.
Isaac Henig will serve as Baal
Tekeah.
Rabbi Katz's holiday addresses
will be deliverpd both in English
and Yiddish.

Meeting at the camp of the
West in Santa Susana, Calif.,
alumni of the Brandeis Camp
Institute gathered over t h e
Labor Day weekend for their
first reunion. Many of the
alumni, who now number 2,000
and who come from communi-
ties throughout the United
States and Canada, recall the
beginnings of the Brandeis
Camp Institute nine years ago.
In setting up the camps, Dr.
Shlomo Bardin has endeavored
to train young Jewish leaders
to achieve a positive attitude to-
ward their Judaism based upon
an understanding of their cult-
ural and religious heritage.

week visit to Israel, Mrs. Hal-
prin attended meetings of the
Jewish Agency Executive, the
Zionist Actions Committee, the
board of governors of the He-
brew University, and participat-
ed in the opening of the Hebrew
University - Hadassah Medical
School in Jerusalem.
In the two decades she has
served Hadassah, Mrs. Halprin
has been twice national presi-
dent, national political chair-
man and head of the Palestine
committee, and has made many
trips to Israel. For a five year

The Women's League of Young
Israel will hold its first - fall
meeting Tuesday evening, Sept.
13, at the home of Mrs. Henry
Caprlebach, 3316 Tuxedo, it was
announced by Mrs. Harry L.
Blitz, president. High on the list
of activities for the coming year
is the League's pledge to furnish
the kitchen of the Young Israel
Youth Center.
In an effoxt to fulfill this goal
of $10,000 the Women's League
is sponsoring its fifth annual
donor luncheon Monday, Nov. 14,
at the Youth Center.,
Chairman of the event is Mrs.
David I. Berris; co-chairman, is
Mrs. Joseph Grossman. Mrs.
Berris' committee consists of:

AZA Convention Backs
Truman on Civil Rights

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., (JTA)
— The 25th anniversary of the
establishment of Aleph Zadik
Aleph, Bnai Brith-sponsored
youth organization with an en-
rollment of 10,000 in 500 chap-
tys, was celebrated here at a
convention atended by 250 dele-
gftes. The delegates sent a wire
of support to President Truman
for his stand on civil rights and
for his efforts to liberalize the
Displaced Persons Act of 1948.
Richard Brownstein, of Portland,
Ore., was elected president of
AZA.

To Inaugurate 'Season

The Bnai David Boys' Club,
for youths 13 to 17, will begin
its activities Sunday, Sept. 11.
The boys meet each Sunday
morning at 9:30 in the chapel
of the synagogue • for services,
followed by breakfast, and a
business meeting. 'Rabbi Joshua
Sperka presents a brief message
'on the prayers of the day.
After breakfast, tl\e boys de-
vote several hours to athletic
activities, under the supervision
of Coach Lou Trotsky.
