Mourn Death of Rabbi Glicksman;
Aid Sought for Surviving Family.

The orthodox Jewish com-
munity of Detroit was deeply
moved by the death last Satur-
day night of Rabbi Shlomo
Glicksman, who had made him-
self felt here in numerous com-
munal activities.
Funeral services w e r e held
Sanday at Chesed shel Ernes,
with burial in Beth Yehudah
Cemetery. Rabbis Stollman,
Thumin and Levine officiated.
Surviving are his wife, two sons
—one a student at Telshe Yes-
hiva in Cleveland—and a daugh-
ter. He was 51 years old. His
residence was at 1934 Gladstone.
Known for his scholarship,
Rabbi Glicksman was active in
the Federation of Polish Jews
and in many efforts to bring re-
fugees and survivors from Naz-
ism to this country. Scores of
Detroiters were assisted in
bringing their relatives to De-
troit. Rabbi Glicksman also as-
sisted in the shipment of parcels
overseas.

RUMBA NIGHT

"THE RAVENS"

Rabbi' Glicksman was active, in
'Danzig, in the fight against Naz-
ism 'and in overcoming the filthy
Propaganda of Streicher's
Stunner. In addition to being
an ordained - rabbi, he had de-
grees from German universities
where he studied jurisprudence.
He was the publisher here of
the monthly periodical. Ameri-
can-European Israeli • Recorder,
through which he provided in-
formation about Israel to all
who sought facts for settlement
or investments.
His family was left without
means and his many friends and
co-workersk hope that some way
will be found of providing for
the survivors.
