ALL SIZES For Appointments Call SALLY SIDRAN TO. 8-2346 by CHRISTOPHER SMITH Even the fascinating, primitive rhythms of the Rumba and Samba haven't been able to dethrone the queen of the ballroom dances, the Waltz. Whether languorous and dreamy, as in the American Waltz or lively and gay as in the Vien- nese, it is still the favorite of true dancers everywhere. The reason is not hard to find when one realizes the music is simple and melodious. The basic dance step is graceful and interesting and equally simple. Contrary to general belief, the Waltz has an endless variation of steps. Any dance pattern learned in the Fox-Trot can be adapted to the Waltz merely by changing the rhythm to conform to the 3/4 time. Learning to Waltz correctly "gives one the beautiful posture and body movement that is the true sion of a trained dancer. Through the years we have seen new dances come and go. Some stay for a while and become a fad, but the Waltz, which is one of the oldest of all dances, is still with us and being danced more and more every day, as attested by Robert Gorham, of our staff, formerly one of the featured artists with the famed Martha Graham, Ted Shown and Ruth St. Denis Danc- ers, and a widely-noted exponent of the Waltz.
