Scouts Refuse Joint
Concert with Jews
WARSAW, (JTA)—A children's
concert in which some 1,000 boys
and girls participated was nearly
disrupted when a band composed
of members of the Polish boy
scouts refused to play for a Jew-
ish children's choir. The concert,
which took place at a resort town,
continued after the scout leader
prevailed upon his charges to
play for the Jewish singers who
rendered Polish and Jewish
songs.
Three Poles, members of an
anti - Jewish, anti - government
underground organization, have
been arrested for descration of
the Jewish cemetery of Lodz and
the destruction of a number of
tombstones. They will be brought
to trial in October, a Security
Ministry spokesman revealed.

that the pig- eon, came back home in 1949.

Jack Benny was lunching one day with Arthur Hornblow at
Romanoff's in Beverly Hills, and described a golf match he had
played that morning, stroke by stroke. Hornblow gulped down his
coffee, and rose. "I'm sorry, Jack," he explained, "but I've got people
waiting fcr me at the studio, so I'm afraid I can only stay for
