UHS on Vacation;

The United Hebrew Schools

The schools will re-open Tues-
day, Sept. 6, with staff meet-
ings.

ed to provide transportation for

Schools conducted summer sess-
ions. The sessions included as-
sembly and morning services.

Israeli Slap at Beigin
Interpreted by Merzon

Commenting on the state-
ment by Moises Toff, director
of the Latin American Division
of the Israeli Foreign • Office,'
taking to task Menahem Beigin-
by reason of the latter's visit
to Argentina in the interests of
the Israel Herut Party, M. Man-
uel Merzon, • Detroit Revisionist,
declared: "It is doubtful if
Moises Toff was really at odds
with those advocating the an-
nexation of -all of Palestine by
the Jewish state. As a diplomat,
it - was, . of course, not only pro-
per, but necessary that he state:
his oppwition to the expansion
of Israel. Officials of the govern
ment 'cannot afford to give our :
adversaries ammunition. But, I
am equally certain that the
Israeli government welcomes
assertion • of Jewish national .
aspirations. It gives it added
bargaining power vis-a-vis our
opponents. Certainly, no one
would advocate that we delete
from our Bible the divine pro-
mise that all of the Holy Land
will be restored to the seed of
Abraham, for fear that it might
obstruct reaching agreements
with the Arabs."
