To Israel Announced Assembly of Youth

Rhea E. Cashman of the
World-Wide Travel Bureau an-
nounced the following schedule
for plane service to Israel via
Air France:
Leave 7 p.m. Tuesday from
New York; arrive in Paris 3:30
p.m. Wednesday; leave Paris
7:15 p.m. Wednesday; arrive
Lydda, Israel, 6 a.m. Thursday.
This is the new service offered
on the Air France Constellation
comets, Miss Cashman explains.
She states that dietary laws are
observed for those desiring to
observe kashrut laws, in addi-
tion to the famous Air France
cuisine accompanied by vintage
wines and champagne.
Arrangements for travel by
Air France can be made through
Rhea E. Cashman of the World-
Wide Travel Bureau, with offices
in the Majestic Bldg. Miss Cash-
man also is arranging for trips
to Israel by steamer. Reserva-
tions are being made for travel
to Israel for the Holy Days.

NEW YORK—The second an-
nual assembly of the National
Jewish Youth Conference will be
held September 2 to 9 at Camp
Wel-Met, Narrowsburg, N. Y.,
Arnulf M. Pins of Paterson, N. J.
•conference chairman, has an-
nounced. The Conference is a
nationwide youth body, sponsor-
ed by the National Jewish Wel-
fare Board and representing
Jewish youth and young adult
councils throughout the country
and national Jewish youth or-
ganizations. Detroit will be rep-
resented at the conference.
The call to the assembly has
been prepared under the direc-
tion of Charles Spielberger, At-
lanta, Ga., chairman of the -con-
ference planning committee, and
has been distributed to youth
groups throughout the country.

Michigan residents so far have
contributed 205,132 of the almost
8,000,000 food and textile pack.-
ages distributed by CARE, the
n o n - profit, government ap-
proved overseas relief package
agency.

The Ministry of Defense in
Israel is collecting all available
biographical material, letters,
literary work and photographs
of soldiers who died in Israel's
defense, it was announced by
Arthur Lourie, Consul General
of Israel, 11 E. 70th St., New
York City.
All records will be preserved
in a Golden Book to be publish-
ed soon and in a memorial to be
built in tribute to those who fell
in the fight. for independence.
Parents, relatives and friends
have been requested by the Is-
raeli Government to submit such
material to the Ministry of De-
fense, Department of War Cas-
ualties, 4 Ester Hamalka Street,
Tel Aviv, Israel, by Aug. 1, 1949.
