Comment on Council's Report

Editor, The Jewish News
I read with a great deal of
interest your article on the "Bar
Mitzvah" of the Jewish Corn-
munity Council. In reading
it, I felt that a few facts were
missing. It would have been
fitting to indicate the names of
the men who over the past 13
years led the Council to this
birthday. It seems to me, that
the individuals w h o worked
along with the directors of the
Council might have been men-
tioned.
I personally was associated
with Isaac Franck when during
his reign he did so much toward
building the spirit of the Coun-
cil. Then I saw the remarkable
growth and changes that took
place during Oscar Cohen's ad-
ministration. It seems to me
that the story of the Council is
not complete without mention
of the men and women who put
in sweat and time to its con-
struction.

Editor's Note: Since the ar-
ticle referred to by Miss Silver-
man dealt only with the past
year's activities, we believe that
it fully covered the era under
discussion. The Council's report
did give due credit to the, work,
during most of that year, of
Oscar Cohen.
