Northwest Confirms
19 at Second Annual
Service on June 12
The Northwest Hebrew Con-
gregation's second confirmation
service will be held at 10 a.m.
Sunday, June 12.
The confirmands, 14 girls and
five boys, will present an origi-
nal cantata, "Look Homeward,
Israel," written by Rabbi Jacob
E. Segal and based on music by
Julius Chajes. The chorus will
be conducted by Felix Resnick.
Musical accompaniment will
/' be provided by the following
members of the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra: Bernard Ros-
en, clarinet; Zinovi Bistritzky,
first violin; Meyer Shapiro, vi-
ola; Eli Stulman, second violin;
J1.cob Becker, cello; and Aliza
Stulman, piano. Bistritzky serv-
ed as musical director for the
service.
Robert Lawrence, scenic artist,
has designed a colorful diorama
as a scenic background for the
cantata. The entire project is
under the supervision of Rabbi
Segal.
Doors will open at 9 a.m. and
will close at 9:50.
