Non-Jew Joins In Rejoicing
On State of Israel Day
Editor, The Jewish News:
For many years I have follow-
ed with sympathetic interest the
Zionist movement's campaign
for a National Jewish Home in
Palestine. And have admired
your unceasing efforts to has-
ten this realization. I owe to
you the knowledge that I pos-
sess of the dreams of the Zion-
ists to achieve a nation of Is-
rael through the many years
that I have read the informa-
tive writings in your newspaper.
Sunday, I note, is by procla-
mation of the acting mayor of
Detroit "State of Israel Day"
and on that day I will join with
you and others in the spirit of
rejoicing and goodwill that links
our nation with the nation of
Israel.
Sincerely,
JAMES L. DEVLIN,
Editor's note: Mr. Devlin is a
non-Jewish friend.
