Members of the printers' and publishers' division of the Allied

Smuggling Holy Scrolls
JERUSALEM (MNB)—A r a b
gangs in the old city of Jeru-
salem have looted two ancient
Torah scrolls from the Churvah
Synagogue and now seek to
smuggle • these valuable sacred
objects into the United States
where they will sell them to the
highest bidder.•
According to a Mizrachi dis-
patch, one U. S. Jewish body has
already offered about $40,000 for
the scrolls.
The scrolls are ' now buried
somewhere in the Old City, the
Mizrachi report declares, and the
Arab gangs have shrouded their
activity in secrecy to prevent
their being apprehended and
punished. The dispatch adds that
the scrolls are expected to be
sent to the U. S. in less than a
month.
