Harvey Weisberg Heads Michigan's
Region of National Student Assn.
President of the Michigan Re-
gion of the National Student As-
sociation is Harvey Weisberg,
University of Michigan law stu-
dent.
„Under his direction fall a host
of Michigan colleges including
the University of Detroit, Wayne,
University of Michigan, Mercy,
Marygrove, Highland Park Junior
College, Sienna Heights, Detroit
Tech, Detroit College, of Law,
Aquinas of Grand Rapids, Cen-
tral Michigan, Western Michigan
and Michigan Tech at Houghton.
Elected last fall at the second
NSA national convention at Madi-
son, Wis., Weisberg is responsible
for carrying out the NSA pro-
grams in the fields of student life,
educational problems and inter-
national affairs in the Michigan
area. -
Started in 1947 as the expres-
sion of various U. S. student
groups for one National Union of
Students to concern itself with
the problems of American col-

Members of Temple ,Beth El
Young People's Club are urged
to be present rat the Temple at
2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 24, when
election of officers will be held.
Dr. B. Benedict Glazer will ad-
dress the election meeting on the
subject "Pathways to Maturity."
The election committee pointed
out that identification by mem-
bership cards will be necessary
for voting. The following slate
has been named by the nominat-
ing committee: President, Albert
Coleman; vice president, 4rry
Stenbuck; secretaries, Eva Bach,
Madeleine Levenberg; treasurer,
Dorothy Stiglitz, Eleanor Heil-
bronner; members-at-large, Hen-
ry Schiffer, Mary Lou Kleinman.

accepted from the floor.
An afternoon dance and re-
freshments will follow the meet-
ing.
Labor Zionist Branch
Holds Pesach Program
Branch Daniel Yosef (11) of the
Labor Zionist Organization, will
hold a Pesach program Friday,
April 15, featuiing Jewish leg-
ends about the festival and two
current events films on Israel.
On April 16, the branch will
participate as a unit in the
Habonim third Seder.
A sports program - and camp-
fire are planned for Sunday, at
Camp Farband and Kvutza Kin-
neret. Members planning to at-
tend will meet at 11 a.m. at Elm-

Read Special Haggadah
At Fifth Habonim Seder

A special Haggadah prepared
on the pattern of the Israeli. kib-
butz Haggadah will be read at
the fifth annual Habonim Third
Seder Saturday evening at the
Jewish Center.
An original play and a pre-
sentation of Israeli songs and
dances will be featured. Rabbi
Moses Lehrman of Cong. Bnai
Moshe will be guest speaker.
Traditional • Passover refresh-
ments will be served.
Transjordan Pact Hails
Reopening of Hospital
NEW YORK, (JTA) — T h e
Israeli-Transjordan a r mist ice
agreement "heralds the reopen-
ing of the Hadassah Hospital
located on the hill outside Jeru-
salem," a statement issued by
Mrs. Samuel W. Halprin, presi-
dent of Hadassah, said. Physic-
ians, nurses and patients had
been denied access to the Mt.
Scopus hospital for more than
a year, the statement added.

In keeping with its principles,
NSA has as its president • Ted
Harris, a Negro Catholic from
Pennsylvania, and as one of its
vice presidents Eugene Schwartz
of New York.
The United Nations has also
given an NSA representative a
seat on the executive board of its
UNESCO committee and the Na-
tional Educators Association has
asked NSA to participate in its
activities.
NSA acts as a bulwark against
Communism on many American
campuses' by training young stu-
dents how to become leaders and
assume responsibility.
The next major function of
NSA in the Michigan region will
be a human relations clinic at
Wayne University, April 30-31
and May 1 for students and edu-
cators from the midwestern area
of the U. S.

To Study in Jerusalem
JERUSALEM (MNB) --Young
people between 17 and 20 years
of age must be encouraged to
come and study in Jerusalem
even though they ultimately in-
tend to return to their -homes in
the diaspora, Rabbi Meir Bar-
Ilan, World Mizrachi president,
recently told a delegation of U. S.
Jewish leaders.
Funds should be collected, he
added, for the building of edi-
fices for synagogues, yeshivot,
schools and for the equipment
of student hostels.

most 250 regularly sustained
classes and courses for adults
sponsored by Zionist districts in
all parts of the country attest
to a recent spurt in Zionist edu-
cational activity, according to
a survey of the Zionist Organ-
ization of America in New York.

at the 25th anniversary celebra-
tion of the Bnai Brith Youth Or-
ganization at 8 p.m. Sunday, May
1, at the Jewish Center.
An exponent of better human
relations, Russel's message will
be on this subject, which has be-
come the theme of the BB YO
silver jubilee. The organization,
and its component groups—Aleph
Zadick Aleph, Bnai Brith Girls,
Bnai Brith Young Men and Bnai
Brith Young Women—will be re-
dedicated to the promotion of bet-
ter human relations during the
anniversary celebration.
A committee of young people
under the chairmanship of Irving
Berg, president of the Detroit-
Windsor BEY() Council, is assist-
ing an adult Bnai Brith commit-
tee in planning the event.
*"Youth and Judaism" will be
the theme of a seminar to be pre-
sented by the Junior Congrega-
tion of Shaarey Zedek, at 8 p. m.
Thursday, April 21, in the social
hall of the synagogue.
The program will include talks
by Rabbi Morris Adler and three
youth speakers. The panel will
discuss "How Judaism Can Be Al-
lied More with Everyday Life."
A question period will follow.
Community singing and dancing
