Jewish Congress Asks Peru

Preparations for the concert to
be presented by the Detroit
Halevy Singing Society June 5,
at the Detroit Art Institute, were
worked out at the meeting of the
executive board Sunday, presided
over by Dr. William Klein.
The featured attraction of the
June 5th concert will be the
opera and radio tenor, Richard
Tucker. Other attractions include
Pavel Slavensky and Margaret
Kozenn, who will be soloists in
Haydn's cantata, "The Creation,"
the chief number- to be sung, un-
der the direction of Julius Chajes.
Arrangements for the erection
of , the Halevy Musical Center
Building also were made at this
session, and the following com-
mittees have been named: Pat-
rons: William Gayman, chairman,
Edith Resnik, secretary, Mrs.
Anna Warren, Mrs. Gertrude Le-
-vine,' Aaron Sandweis and Julius
Chafetz; house: Mrs. Anna War-
