▪ Spontaneous Gifts Total $24,000
At Beth Yehudah Patron Dinner

Spontaneous gifts totaling $25,-
000 were presented to the Beth
Yehudah Schools Sunday night
at their seventh annual dinner
at Northwest Synagogue. Dedic-
ated to Rabbi Moses FiScher's 70th
birthday, the $18 patrons' dinner
drew more than -350 leaders of
Michigan and Ohio communities.
An address by Rabbi Solomon P.
Wohlgelernter of Chicago, stres-
sing the " indispensible work of
the Yeshivah providing citizens
of America and citizens of Israel
for the future" and describing the
$100,000 needs of the Yeshivah
between now and September,
brought forth numerous pledges
front the floor.
Samuel B. Solomon's 'gift was
$5,000. Other gifts included $5,-
000 from the Toledo Jewish com-
munity, represented by Rabbi
Nehemiah Katz. Morris W. Zack,
chairman of the Yeshivah budget
committee, pledged $3,000 and
$1,000 each was pledged by David
Go:Ica-erg, Nathan Freedland, Isa-

dore and Wolfe Cohen and Joseph
D. Feldman, who was chairman of
the dinner.
Gifts of $500 each were pledged
by Morris Snow, Samuel Hecht-
man, S. Brooks Barron, Arthur
Klein and Abe Nusbaum. Max W.
Temchin, Sam Aaron and Sol
Eisenberg gave $450 each. Meyer
Terebelo pledged $300, David I.
Berris, Meyer Sugarman, Israel
Burnstein, Isaac Rosenthal, Mrs.
Louis Solai, David • J. Goldberg
and Kenneth Fischer gave $100
each; Harry Fixler, David Apple-
baum, Rabbi Samuel H. Prero,
Julius Weinberg, Rabbi. Joshua S.
Sperka, Sol Semansky and Isa-
dore Levin, $50 each.
To Rabbi Moses Fischer, the
occasion provided numerous tri-
butes. Copies of the yearbook of
the Yeshivah, dedicated to him,
were distributed to all present.
Rabbi Solomon Wohlgelernter,
brother of the Yeshivah president,
postponed his trip to Israel, which
was to begin the next day, to
address the event.

Little Women of Hadassah will
present "The Anniversary Ball,"
commemorating the birth of Is-
rael, May 21, at the Book-Cadil-
lac Hotel.
Phil Brestoff and his orchestra
will be featured. Geraldine Stash-

vites all young people to attend.
The group will meet at 2:30
p.m. Sunday, April 10, at Shaarey
