Max Haidy, Congregation recrea-
tional division, Barbara Kline for
the pupils of the Sunday Schbol.

Rabbi Segal Speaks
Rabbi Jacob B. Segal was
principal speaker, and stressed
the importance of the unification
of the school and the synagogue.
Kaufman also spoke of this uni-
fication, giving credit for the
specific merger to the late Fred
M. Butzel, Isidore Sobeloff. UHS
president Abe Kasle and Philip
J. Gilbert and the Northwest
Congregation committee.
Nathan R. Epstein, vice presi-
den, turned over the keys of four
rooms to the families of H. Brod-
sky, H. Schwartz, H. Friedman
and N. R. Epstein.
UHS Greetings
Earlier in the day, open house
was .held at the school building,
with a tour of the new rooms
being terminated with an
assembly in the chapel, which
will be used as a prayer room
on weekdays and Junior Con-
gregation chapel on Saturdays.
At this program, Kasle, Ber-

nard Isaacs, UHS superintendent,
and Alb e r t Elazar, associate
superintendent, 'gave greetings.
Patricia Lieberman spoke for the
UHS students, and Fred Brainin.

of the Psalms in Hebrew.
Cantor Moishe Oysher and
violinist Zenovie Bistritsky were
featured soloists at the dinner.

WASHINGTON, (JTA) — The
Senate Foreign Relations Com-
mittee confirmed the nomination
of James G. McDonald as Am-
bassador to Israel, without ob-
jection.
