Lerner, at 46, has made a bril- liant reputation as a teacher, editor, writer. He was educated at Yale, and the Robert Brook- ings Graduate School in Wash- ington, D. C. He has taught at Sarah Lawrence, Harvard, and William, and now lectures at the New School for Social Research.
