International Debate

For the first time since 1937,
Wayne University and Cam-
bridge University will compete
in an international debate at 8
p.m. March 22 at Cass Technical
High School. Teams from the
two universities will air the
"pros" and "cons" of military
preparations in the Western
Union of nations and their effect
upon the survival of democratic
ideals. Fred B. Lifton, of 1502
Delaware, a law student, will
debate for Wayne.

Mu Kappa Chapter of Sigma
Alpha Mu fraternity at Wayne
University will commemorate the
20th anniversary of its founding
with a three-day celebration that
is expected to draw alumni from
throughout the midwest.
Festivities will start with a
"French Quarter" party staged
by the women's chapter of the
alumni Saturday, at the Fort
Shelby.
A stag, bringing together the
active and alumni chapters, will
take place Monday. On Founders
Day, Tuesday, a dinner dance
will be given at the Fort Shelby.
Heading the committees in
charge are Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Pivnick and Mrs. George Weis-
wasser.
