National iIillel Director to Address
New BBW Members Monday Night

Rabbi Arthur J. Lelyveld, na-
tional director of the Bnai Brith
Hillel Foundation, will be guest
speaker at the mass initiation of
Greater Detroit Bnai Brith Wo-
men at 8:30 p.m., Monday, March
14, at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
One thousand women are • ex-
pected to be inducted into the
fraternal order as the Matilda
Sims initiation class, at that time.
Rabbi Lelyveld, a graduate of
Columbia University and Hebrew
Union College,. was a leader
in the- National Federation of
Temple Youth and the Zionist .
Organization of America before
assuming his post, with the Hillel
Foundation. He succeeded Dr. A.
L. Sachar as national director in
1949.

Wertheim Speaks
To Labor Zionists

Branch Three of the Labor
Zionist Organization will cele-
brate its 15th anniversary Sun-
day, March 20, at the Labor
Zionist Institute, 13722 Linwood.

"New Functions for Zionism" at
the meeting of Haifa Chapter,
Zionist Organization of Detroit,
Monday evening, March 14, it
was announced by Mrs. Albert
SchwartZ, program chairman.
The meeting will highlight the
chapter's membership campaign,
according to Dr. Philip Sherman
and Benjamin Weiss, member-
ship , co-chairman.
"Action in Israel" a new tech-
nicolor film will have its first
Detroit showing at the meeting.
Mrs. Seymour Kraus will direct
community singing.
Dora Heidemann, Sidney Mis-
kin, Leonard Radner and Dr.
Bernard Weston will be hosts for
the evening.

cussed by Mrs. Selma Fraiberg

Mrs. Fraiberg, Mrs. Fraiberg
who received B.A. and M.A. de-

versity of Michigan and a con-
sultant in child therapy and staff
instructor for the Down River
Consultation Service.
The talk will. concern the nor-
mal and typical problems of the
child from five to eleven years,
and is offered to all Council
members.
This meeting will be held at
1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, at
the JewiSh Community Center.
The speaker will be introduced
by Mrs. Louis Zlatkin.

luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Wednes-

Luncheon - preparations are under
the direction of Mrs. Lillian Kap-

Guest speaker of the afternoon
is Mrs. Max Dushkin, who will
discuss "Pointed Paragraphs
for Jewish Women". Mrs. Dush-
kin will base her talk on research
on the Pentateuch edited by the
late Chief Rabbi of England, Rab-
bi J. L. Hertz.

The Kindergarten will hold its
Purim masquerade party at 11

a Biblical character, a character
from Jewish history and litera-
ture, or the members of the
United Nations. To highlight the
program, the film "Queen Esth-
