Yemen Blood Libel
Confirmed in London
LONDON (WJA) - Informa-
tion published a short time ago
about anti-Jewish incidents in
Yemen, based on a blood-libel
allegation, has now been con-
firmed by reports from Foreign
Office sources, put at the dis-
posal of the World Jewish Con-
gress Executive (E u r o p e a n
Branch).
According to these reports, two
children were
female. have
said to h
ave been found murder-
ed in a well in the Jewish quar-
ter of Sanaa, the capital of
Yemen, in the middle of Decem-
ber. The heads of the Jewish
community of Sanaa were arrest-
ed "pending investigation" and
the authorities in Sanaa have
garrisoned the Jewish quarter "in
order to prevent disturbances."
The situation, according to the
reports received, is now well un-
der control and no further in-
formation is at present available.

according to Vincent Starrett,
was to write a full-length novel,
and many of his stories were begun with that purpose in mind.
Inevitably, however, he had to tack a hurried ending to them in
order to fulfill some particulatily pressing obligation. One editor got
angry because of late copy and sent O. Henry a message reading:
"If your copy is not delivered today, I promise to arrive in person
