Arbor Day Proclaimed As 'Afforestation Day' To Honor Israel Army TEL AVIV, (JTA) Hamigia Asar b'Shevat, the first Arbor Day to be celebrated since • the \proc- lamation of Israeli statehood— which falls- this year on Feb. 14, when the Israeli Constituent As- sembly is scheduled to open—was proclaimed as "Afforestation Day." Members of the Israeli Army, in cooperation with the Jewish National Fund, will dedicate four new forests in memory of the Israeli troops who lost their lives in the recent fighting. Funds for this .project will be raised among members of the armed forces, the civilian population and school children.
