Arbor Day Proclaimed
As 'Afforestation Day'
To Honor Israel Army

Asar b'Shevat, the first Arbor Day
to be celebrated since • the \proc-
lamation of Israeli statehood—
which falls- this year on Feb. 14,
when the Israeli Constituent As-
sembly is scheduled to open—was
proclaimed as "Afforestation
Day."
Members of the Israeli Army,
in cooperation with the Jewish
National Fund, will dedicate four
new forests in memory of the
Israeli troops who lost their lives
in the recent fighting. Funds for
this .project will be raised among
members of the armed forces, the
civilian population and school
children.
Organize Dance Classes
For Young Men, Women
Dancing classes for single
young men and women, 25 to 35,
as well as for young married
couples, are being organized by
Rolla Dudik.
A professional instructor will
lead classes of eight to 12 persons
in the rhumba, samba, tango, fox
trot and waltz. A nominal fee
will be charged.
