Tourney Gets Underway Family
Event Saturday
With Eighty-Eight Teams

Eighty-two Detroit Bnai Brith
teams and six from Chicago roll
at the Downtown Recreation this
week-en.1 in the first part of the
sectional bowling tourney spon-
sored by the Detroit Bnai Brith
Council. Next week-end, 184 out-
of-town teams will compete in the
tourney.
When the tourney is completed
on Feb. 13, a total of 270 teams
will have competed. An evening
banquet and trophy presentation
will take place at Masonic Tem-
ple.
A total' of 25 cities will be rep-
resented. The Hotel Fort Shelby
will be tourney headquarters.
Sam Maza heads the general
committee, assisted by Dan Pra-
ger, Herm Zimmerman, Mike En-
gelman, Phil Rothschild, Joe Le-
vin, Sam Bank; Danny Raskin,
Harry Kurzman, Dave .Kurzman,
