Congregational News Dr. Solomon Goldman To Speak Thursday At Shaarey Zedek Rabbi Solomon Goldman of Chicago, one of America's most eminent preachers and authors, will speak in behalf of the Jew- ish Theological Seminary of Am e r i c a, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek, at 8:30 p.m. next Thursday, Feb. 3. The public is invited. Noted as a scholar, orator and Hebraist, Dr. Goldman has won fame in all Englishing-speaking RABBI SOLOMON GOLDMAN countries with his latest works— "The Book of Books.," the first of 13 volumes of which appeared in 1948. The second is due soon. He is the author of "A Rabbi Takes Stock," "The Jew and the Universe" and "Crisis and De- cision." Born in Russia in 1893, he came to the United States in 1900. He was ordained Rabbi by the Jewish Theological Seminary which also awarded him an hon- onary Doctorate. Before assum- ing the pulpit of Congregation Anshe Emet in Chicago he was •rabbi of the Jewish Center in Cleveland. He is a former presi- dent of the Zionist Organization of America and recently has propagated the work of Hista- &tit.
