IARY No. 135, JWV, entertained
the patients of the Veterans Hos-
pital in Dearborn Jan. 6. The cast
of the Bowery show was featured.
Gifts of stationery were distrib-
uted to 750 patients. The follow-
ing members assisted the presi-
dent, Hilda M. Goldberg, and her
hospital co-chairman, Faye Teitel-
baum; Birdie, Rosenberg, Dor-
othy Potiker, Jessie Slue, Mae
Ginsburg, Iviartha Kaplan,' Ceil
Cohen, Eva Schiff, Yetta Simon,
Esther Gunsburg and Eve Fein-
stein.

a skit, "Bloomer Girl Revue," to
be given at the chapter's instal-
lation of officers in the spring.
The next rehearsal will be held
at the home of Minnie Bressler,

The officers are: Eve Meister,
chairman; Sarah Schore, co-chair-
man; Ruth Weinshelbaum, corres-
ponding secretary; Sadie Mark-
man, treasurer.

ILIARY, pledged $500 for the
JWV Memorial Home in honor
of Allen Cantor, son of Philip
and Rose Cantor of .9237 Wilde-
mere. The Ladies Auxiliary of
the Brith Sholom, of which Rose
Karnow is president, donated
$50 for Palestine, through the
auxiliary. Brith Sholom also don-
ated $10 for the hospital fund.

speak at the January regional
meeting of Women's American
ORT, at a luncheon at 12:30 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 177, at the Jewish
Center.
Aaron Tart, New Yo.‘.-k attor-
ney and a member of ORT's na-
tional executive committee, will
tell the members of his trip
through Europe last summer,
and, specifically, of the work of
the organization in the rebuild-
ing of Europe.
Mrs. Harry Becker, regional
president, urges all members and
friends of ORT to attend.

Pianist Adele Marcus
To Appear at Center

Adele Marcus, outstanding New
York pianist, who will give her
eighth recital in New York at
Carnegie Hall this month, will
come to Detroit
for a concert at
8:30 p.m. Tues-
day, Jan. 18, at
the Jewish Cen-
ter. Her program
will include
compositions by
Scarlatti.
Brahms, Schu-
bert, Schumann,
Scriabine, Rach-
Mrs. Maas maninoff, Stra-
vinsky and Chopin.
Admission will be by invita-
tions, which can be obtained at
the Center office prior to the
day of the concert. Mrs. Royal
Maas announces that a reception
honoring the artist will follow
the concert.

Dinner-Dance, Show

that plans are being completed
for the .Jan. 23 dinner-dance at

Rehearsals are well under way for the musical production,
"Shoot the Breeze," to be presented by The Youth Education League
Jan. 25 at Masonic Temple.
