Kindergarteners at
Sabbath Services

Consecration exercises of the
newly enrolled kindergarten pu-
pils of Northwest 'Hebrew Con-
gregation and Center Religious
School will take place on Satur-
day, Jan. 8, at 11:30 a.m., in the
synagogue, • as a part of the Sab-
bath service. '
The Kiddush, which will follow
the consecration service, has been
planned by the consecration com-
mittee composed of Mesdames B.
Bernhardt, p. Harivin, H. Kars:),
I. Lash, M. Naftaly and E. Perl-
stein.
On Sunday, Jan. 9, the annual
Hanukah program for parents of
Sunday School children will take
:place in the auditorium of the
Bagley school. The program, to
begin at 10:15 a.m., includes a
play by the Children's Theater,
directed by Cantor Pavel Slaven-
sky, and children's dancing di-
rected by Miss Vivian Kozenn.

three sermons on "Three World-
Changing Documents—The Con-
stitution of the State of Israel,
the Genocide Convention of the
United Nations, and the Univer-
sal Declaration on Human Rights
of the United Nations."
The first sermon, interpreting
the Israeli Constitution, will be
delivered at Sabbath eve services
Friday, Jan. 14, at 8:30, in the
Lecture Hall of the Detroit Insti-
tute of Arts. -
Sunday afternoon, Jan. 16, the
Men's. Club of Temple Israel will
hold its annual father-children's
party at the Jewish Community
Center. -
The Men's Club of Brewster
Pilgrim Congregational Church
has invited the Men's Club of
Temple Israel to a Brotherhood
dinner at the church, Jan. 8.
Principal speaker will be Father
Cardinal of Chicago, who will
speak on the subject: "The Eco-
nomic, Political and Religious
