Juliette Moses of the interme-
diate department of the Jewish
Community Center has organized
the "BABY • SITTERS" of t h e
Center for a training program on
the first and third Thursday of
each month. Girls who are at
least 14 years of age and mem-
bers of the Center, are eligible.

Two new teen age clubs have
been formed at the Center. The
SHER'EES has Lorraine Berk as
president and Ethel Maniker, ad-
visor. The TROJANS, a - club for
boys 13 to 15, has Seymour Car-
penter for president and Norman
Brown, advisor.

Ten teen-age members of the
Jewish Center have formed a
HUMAN RELATIONS CLUB to
discuss methods of furthering
community programs of religious
and racial understanding.

Alexander Nemoff will speak
for the WEDNESDAY EVENING
DISCUSSION. GROUP at the
Center at 9 p.m. Dec. 29. "What
Goes on in Israel Today" is the
title of the address by this De-
troiter who spent eight months
in Palestine.

Dorothy Steinman has founded
a YOUNG ADULT CHORAL
GROUP at the Jewish Center.
Singers 19 to 30 meet ' every
Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Young
Adult Lounge. Anyone who plays
the piano and would like to ac-
. company the group is invited to
join.

THE JEWISH PARENTS IN-
STITUTE will celebrate Hanu-
kah with three events. Sunday,
-Dec. 26, the parent-children's
party will be held from 9 a.m. to
12 ;noon. Friday, Dec. 31, the JPI
will sponsor a brotherhood film
program from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
for the children.
Sunday, Jan. 2, all the clubs of
the JPI will hold a communal
party from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m.

Sunday evening, Jan. 2, the
Hanukah festival of the YIDDISH
CULTURE COMMITTEE will be
held at 8:30, p.m. The entire pro-
gram of music, candle kindling
and community -singing will be in
Yiddish.

. President Pearl Miller of the
YOUNG WOMEN'S STUDY
CLUB announces that the Jan. 4
meeting will be at the home of
Mrs. Freda Schwartz, 2533 Stur-
tevant, at 1:30 p.m. instead of at
the Center.

Cards, checkers, chess and
music are on the regular program
of the YOUNG ADULT LOUNGE.
The lounge features Palestinian
and • folk dancing on Monday and
social dancing on Thursday.

Sam Levy, director of health'
education, announces the organi-
zation of a new basketball team,
the TED ALLEN CLUB, named
for Theodore B. -Allen, veteran,
who died July, 1948. Allen won
Wayne University varsity letters
for baseball and basketball.

Mrs. Rose Marshak, general
chairman of the annual Hanukah
Ball sponsored by the COUNCIL
OF MOTHERS' CLUBS, an-
nounces the following additional
names Of• her. assistants: Mes-
dames Mollie Boraks, Ida Etkin,
Charlotte Freedman, Jane Le-
vine, Pearl Miller, Dina Robins,
Lea Ruebel, Sarah Silverman and
Rose Yagoda.-
Mrs. Flora Cedar is secretary
of the dance committee. The an-
nual event is being held at the
Center, Wednesday evening, Dec.
29. Latkes and other Hanukah
delicacies will be served.

LOS ANGELES T E L C O V E
CLUB is planning a Hanukah
program for 8 p.m. this Sunday
at the Center. A pageant, written
especially for this occasoin by
Miriam Slobin, program chair-
man, will be presented.

of the 54th anniversary banquet
of Detroit Senior Bicur Cholem,
announces that Mrs.- Celia Mar-
gOlis will serve - as co-chairrnan.
