Women's Club Activities

WOIVIEN'S LEAGUE OF TEL-
GUIBORIM has completed plans
for its Hanukah party to be
held Tuesday-, Dec. 28, at Bnai
• Moshe social hall. Tickets may
be obtained froth Mrs, Max Bum-
mer, UN. 4-6574, or Mrs. A. Le-
bowitz, TY. 5-1327. The League
was informed that Eliezer Sho-
stak, secretary general of the
League for Jewish National La-
bor in Palestine, of which this
group is an• affiliate, has just
arrived 'from Israel, bringing a
motion picture which shows the
building of the Tel-Guiborim
colonies. This picture will be
shown in Detroit in the near fu-
ture.

LADIES OF YESHIVATH
BETH YEHUDAH will present a
Yiddish motion picture. featuring
the "Yiddish King Lear," at (Cen-
tral High Sehool, at 8 p. m. Wed-
. riesday; 'Jan; 5. !Dream-of my
People," with the late Cantor
Rosenblatt also will be shown.

FARE ORGANIZATION will
hold a -victory bmcheOri at 12
noon Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the
home of the president, Mrs. Al-
bert Kurzman, 3287 Cortland.
Mrs. Kurzman will give a final
report on the group's recent
donor event.

AVODAH CHAPTER of the
Pioneer Women's Organization
will celebrate Hanukah at a
party for members at 8:30 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 27, at the home of
Sylvia Isaacs, 18877 S t o p e 1.
Hanukah refreshments will be
served and the candle lighting
ceremony will be held. Members
are asked to bring an inexpen-
sive toy for' distribution to chil-
dren in hospitals.

panel discussion on the work of

Book Month celebration at the

WOMEN'S DIVISION of the
Jewish Welfare Federation
is planning publication of a
Women's Division Bulletin. Mes-
dames Leo Orecklin and Sidney
R. Marwil are co-chairmen of the
committee. A sip - committee
headed by Mrs. Paul Broder and
including Mesdames E. Bryce Al-
pern, David Arnold and Julian
Scott will prepare the first issue
which will be published on
Jan. 12.

Council Arbitrators Tell
Community of Services

In an effort to keep the com-
munity informed on its services,
the Arbitration Committee of the
Jewish Community Council is
addressing a series of letters to
lawyers and rabbis who may be
in a position to .refer cases to it.
The committee, which is head-
lid by A. •C. Lappin and Louis
Rosenzweig now handles a new
ease on the average of one every
two weeks, as well as an equal
number of inquiries which are
handled in consultation without
requiring complete arbitration.

Shmuel Peterfi, who was. born

in Hungary and has resided in

Palestine for 10 years, was
named Israeli consul to Buda-
pest. He is 40 years old. RABBI
MOSHE WEINBERGER, former
Chief Rabbi of Klausenburg, was
appointed inamigration officer
and cultural attache at the Buda-
pest consulate.

During Hanukah, Detroit con-
gregations and organizations are
asked by the Detroit Rabbinate
to devote their discussions to the
State of Israel.
Sabbath Hanukah will be de-
voted to Israel at all synagogues,
and the rabbis will dedicate their
sermons to Israel.
