Mr. and Mrs. John Sodos Celebrate
50th Wedding Anniversary Jan. 2

Elaborate arrangements are be-
ing made by the children, grand-
children and great-grandchildren
of Mr. and Mrs. John Sodos for
the celebration of their golden
wedding anniversary, at a double
ring ceremony at the Bnai David
synagogue on Saturday evening,
Jan. 2. Rabbi J. S. Sperka and
Cantor -Hyman Adler will offi-
ciate. There will be a family
dinner, followed by a reception,
at the Workmen's Circle Build-
ing, after the synagogue cere-
mony.
Mr. and Mrs. Sodos, who now
reside at 11842 LaSalle, were
married Jan. 12, 1899, in Ekater 7
inoslav, Russia. They lived in
Paris for 10 years as French citi-
zens and came to Detroit in 1914,
upon the outbreak of World War
I and resided here continuously
since.
Mr. Sodos, who is 72, is retired.
He- was a painting and decorating
contractor. He is a former presi-
dent of Ahavath Achim Syna-
gogue, present president of Eka-
teronoslaver Verein, vice-presi-
dent of Los Angeles Sanatorium's
Detroit Auxiliary, member of the
boards of Workmen's Circle and
Chesed shel Emes. He has been
active in forming youth groups
for the Los Angeles Sanatorium.
Mrs. Sodos, who is 69, is active
an all women's groups with which
her husband is affiliated.
They have four daughters,
Mrs. Morris (Luba) Lupiloff, Mrs.
Maurice (Edith R.) Hirsh of LOs
Angeles, Mrs. Morris (Nena)
Sandubrae, Mrs. Edwin I. (Jen-

n ie ) Solomon; nine grandchii -
dren and four great-grandchil-
dren.
All the children, grandchildren
and great-grandchildren will be
in the bridal party. It will be a
formal ceremony. After the cele-
bration, Mr. and Mrs. Sodos will
leave on a "honeymoon" to Cali-
fornia.
Scores of relatives are expect-
ed here from many parts of the
country for the celebration, in-
cluding 14 members of the fam-
ily of A. E. Sodos of New York,
brother of Mr. Sodos; Mr. and
Mrs. Sol Sodos, Mr. and Mrs.
Morris Sodos, Isidore Sodos, Mr.
and Mrs. William Beiser, and
their families, all of New York;
Mr. and Mrs. L. Kohn, Mrs. Helen
Lichen and Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Lichen and families, all of Cleve-
land; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sodos,
Mr. Carrie Jerome and Al Sodos
of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. Ir

Beigin Critizes Einstein
For 'Fascist' Appelation

Atlas and Yaffa Praised
For Aid to Israel Work

Members of the Bnai Brith Aid
to Israel committee stated that
the success of the half million
dollar drive was due in the main
to Sam Atlas, Dr. Lawrence Yaffa
and other leaders.

automotive sectoin. He personal-
ly gave 17 trucks at cost, in ad-
