Bnai Moshe Hanukah
Parents Institute
To Start on Sunday

The Parents Holiday Institute
on Hanukah at the Bnai Moshe
will open at 11 a. m. Sunday.
Several hundred parents of re-
ligious school pupils will attend
a series of four consecutive meet-
ings on Sunday mornings to dis-
cuss the significance of Hanu-
kah.

Bnai Moshe Religious School.
who is in charge of the Institute,
has arranged the ,program.
The program Chairman, Mrs.
.Sol Grand, is in charge of the
program on Sunday, in which
Morton Sobel, Harry Siegel, Mrs.
Shirley Kurzman, Mrs. Seymour
Abramson and Samuel Neuschatz
will participate.
Mrs. Harry Gunsberg will be
chairman of the second session of
the institute to be held on. Sun-
day, Dec. 12.
The public is invited to attend
all sessions of the institute.

Northwest Opens
Adult Institute
Tuesday Evening

The Adult Study Institute of
the Northwest Hebrew Congrega-
tion will open its third season
Tuesday evening, Dec. 7.
Sam Bez, adult study chair-
man, announces that Rabbi Jacob
E. Segal will 'teach the Bible
course, utilizing as text Mortimer
Cohen's "Pathways Through the
Bible."
The rabbi also will conduct•
two lecture courses. The first, en-
titled "Living as a Jew," will
deal with salient contemporary
Jewish problems. The second, to
be offered at alternating sessions,
will be "Gems of Modern Jewish
Literature."
These classes will be held on
the first and third Tuesday of
each month, from 8:30 to 10:30
p.m.
Also to be offered will be two
courses in Hebrew, with Mrs.
Herzl Saperstein • as instructor,
each Tuesday at 7:30 and 8:30
p.m. In addition to a beginner's
class there will be a "refresher"
course for those who have had
preliminary training.
The Institute is affiliated with
the National Academy of Adult
Jewish Studies of the Jewish
Theological Seminary. The Acad-
emy will grant certificates of
credit to each student enrolling.
The Institute courses are open to
all men and women whether or
not they are members of the con-
gregation.
