Maurice Samuel Rally Keynotes
Jewish Book Month Observance
Jewish Book Month will begin
for Detroit young adults at 8:30
p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, when
Maurice Samuel addresses an
open youth rally sponsored by
the Detroit Jewish Young Adult
Council at the Jewish Center.
Samuel, widely known for his
contributions to American Jew-
ish literature in his own right,
as well as his excellent transla-
tions of the works of noted Yid-
dish and • Hebrew writers, will
speak on "Jewish Literature and
Culture."
Through the initiative of the
Young Adult Council, Jewish
Book Month also will be observed
by three evenings of book re-
views, following Samuel's ad-
