Parents Reveal Troth
Norma Spielberg and Shirlee Jacobs are spending Thanksgiving
week-end with Rabbi and Mrs. Paul Rosenfeld of Cincinnati. Mrs.
Rosenfeld is the former Charlotte Kelman of Detroit.
Mildred Lenhoff, whose marriage to Bernard Glicker will take
place Dec. 26, was entertained at a shower Nov. 13 by Charlotte
Rosenfeld, Shirlee Jacobs and Norma Spielberg.
Emily Kittner, who will be married to Daniel Arnold Jan. 16,
will be honored at a miscellaneous shower, to be given this. Sunday
by Mrs. David Arnold and Ruth M. Levine.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Barell of Highland Ave. who were visiting in
Los Angeles were entertained on their return at a surprise party
honoring their 43rd wedding anniversary, by their children, Mr.
and Mrs. L. Barill, Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood Lightman and Norman
Barill.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fields and daughters, Ardith and Sheila,
returned by plane to their home in Los Angeles after a three-week
visit with Mrs. Field's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Mitchell of
Wisconsin Ave.
Sam Stiglitz of Cortland Ave. left for a trip to St. Louis, Kansas
City and Los Angeles.
Miss Dorothy Stiglitz of Euclid Ave. visited in Cleveland.
Mrs. Ann Freedman of Pittsburgh is attending the wedding of
her nephew.
A charity dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Sam Tushman of
4082 Cortland. Proceeds went to Palestine.
Mrs. Abe Katzman of Fairfield Ave. is spending a few days in
New York, and then will go on * Atlantic City, N. J., where she will
attend the convention of the National Women's League of the United
Synagogue of America.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin A. Gladwin of 866 Iroquois are leaving
Coronado Beach, Calif., for a stay in Palm Springs, Calif.
Mrs. Ben Kramer of Whitmore Rd. left for Buffalo where she is
visiting her brother-in-law and sister, Mr, and Mrs. Max Pressler.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Press of Buena Vista Ave. have left for
Los Angeles where they plan to make their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Ozzie Simmons are spending a few weeks with her
parents, Cantor and Mrs. Jacob Sonenklar of Calvert Ave., before
going on to Cambridge, Mass., where he will -continue his studies
at Harvard University Graduate School.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hersch of Westchester Dr. returned from
a stay in St. Joseph, Mich.

MRS. MALCOLM R. COHEN
The marriage of Elaine Box-
man and Malcolm Richard Co-
hen was solemnized Tuesday
evening, Nov. 9, at Shsarey Ze-
dek, with Rabbi Moses Fischer,
Rabbi Morris Adler and Cantor
Jacob Sonenklar officiating. The
bride is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Benjamin Boxman, of Cort-
land Ave., and her husband's
parentg are Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Cohen, of Oakman Blvd.
The bride wore the traditional
gown of ivory satin. The fitted
bodice was fashioned with a
bertha collar of chantilly - lace
and a yoke of fine illusion. The
full hooped skirt extended into
a court train. A headdress of the
same lace held her tiered finger-
tip veil of illusion. She carried a
Bible with an arrangement of
white orchicli. •
Mrs. Milton Korotkin was
matron-of-honor and Adrienne
Boxman was her sister's honor
maid. Bridesmaids included Bet-
ty Cetner, Ethel Cohen, Audrey
Gelland and Jeanne Jaslove.
Harry Shapiro served as best
man and the ushers were Sey-
mour Eckelman, Jerry Manchel,
Marvin Rosen and ' Alan Soskin.
Also included in the bridal pro-
cession were two . junior atten-
dants, Sharon Lee Music, cousin
of the bride, and Jason Kay Gold-
man. .
Following the wedding dinner
and reception, the young couple
left for a South American cruise.

Monday Climaxes
Drive for Funds
Fred Hopfeld has been named
chairman of the annual bazaar of
the Detroit chapter of Self-Help,
scheduled for Dee. 11 at the Fort
Wayne Hotel.
He will be assisted by Mrs.
John J. Leopold, Walter Goat-
leib and Paul Corby. The pro-
gram will include a variety of
booths, dancing and refreshments
at a "cafe Parisienne."
Proceeds will be used for aid
to DPs.
Tickets may be purchased at
Walter Herz, Nellie's Sweet Shop,
Selma Bonheim and F. Spitzer's.
Bnai Brith Greater Detroit
Women's Council will climax its
extensive fund-raising drive this
Monday afternoon when Tito
Guizar and his Pan-American
Revue will be presented at Ma-
sonic Auditorium.
The Council's $75,000 goal
will cover district allocations to
local, national and international
Bnai -Brith philanthropic projects.
Mrs. Robert A. Coggan, general
fund-raising chairman, announces
that Mrs. George Wise was
awarded the Council prize for
reaching the highest total in con-
tributions dUring October.
Mrs. Gerald Goldberg, Coun-
cil president, expressed thanks
to all memberS of the community
who already have assisted in
preparations for the event, and
urges all women to attend the
program at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

ganizations, pointed out that the
JWV women, participating for
the first time in the SOS work,
did an excellent job.
