Betrothal Announced

Mrs. Sid Goldberg of New York, formerly of Detroit, is visiting
her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Michlin of
Calvert Ave.
- Mrs. Irving Miller of Lawrence Ave. has left for a month's visit
in Los Angeles, where she will be the guest of her sister, Mrs. Elsie
Levett, and will attend the wedding of • her niece, Muriel Levett, to
Ludwig Schloss Thanksgiving Eve at Brentwood Country Club.
Cantor and Mrs. A. A. Rosenfeld of 2663 Glendale will leave
next week for an extended trip to California.
Mrs. Isadore Berkowitz and son, Alfred, of Cortland Ave. left
by car for a six-week visit with relatives and friends in San Fran-
cisco and California.
Among the Detroit delegates to the United Palestine Appeal
conference in Chicago last week-end were Mr. and Mrs. M. Goldoftas,
Walter Field, Sol Edelman, Leon Kay and Morris Jacobs.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Sloan have left for a visit in New York City,
Bayonne, N. J., and Washington, D. C.
Mrs. Leon Kay is visiting in New York City and will be joined
for another week's stay there by her husband.
. Mrs. Henry Wineman of Hamilton Dr. has returned from New
Orleans, where she visited her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Davis.
Mrs. David J. Levy of Boston Blvd. has returned from a fort-
night's stay in New York.
Mrs. Edwin M. Rosenthal, Jr., of Parkside Ave. left on Monday
to spend a week in New York.
- Mrs. M. M. Wittleshofer of Boston Blvd. is spending a month in
the East visiting with members of her family.
• Mr. and Mrs. Harry Farbsten of Burlington Dr. have been visiting
in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Miller of Cincinnati were the guests last
week-end of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney
Weisman of Suffolk Dr.
Mr. and Mrs. Morley Benjamin have returned to their home in
Westwood, Calif., after a visit with members of their family. They
were the house guests of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
-Ginsburg of Chicago Blvd.

week visiting with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.

Mrs. Fanny Rosenfeld, who died
last month. Contributions are still
being accepted for the hospital
equipment fund by Mrs. Jarvis

To View Youth Work

A seminar sponsored by Bnai
Brith Youth Organizations will
be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.
16, at the home of Mrs. Arthur

will be honored at ORT chapter
meetings this week.
ORT South will hold its first
group meeting of the season at
the home of Mrs. Milton Saffir,
1600 Boston Blvd. at 12:30 p. m.
Nov. 15. Dessert luncheon will be
served, and old and new mem-
bers are urged to attend.
Mrs. Milton, Kuhn, vice-presi-
dent in charge of program, an-
nounces that Dr. Max Rosenfeld
will present an illustrated ac-
count of his trip through Europe
last year, which includes pic-
tures made of places of Jewish
interest.
Huldal Fine, principal of Hamp-
ton School, will speak at the
meeting of ORT North at the
home of Mrs. Clarence Enggass,
19344 Cumberland, at 1 p.m. Mon-•
day, Nov. 15. Dessert luncheon
will be served. Miss Fine's title
"Human Relations Unlimited,"
will be applied to the organiza-
tion's work as well as the gen-
eral relations of society.
Mrs. David Ruby will present
a brief survey of world events,
and the meeting will be chaired
by Mrs. Enggass, president.

Eddie Murray and his Bob-lo
orchestra, a Finzel attraction,
and Ralph Bowen and his orches-
tra, a Del Delbridge and Ray
Gorrell band, are two of the out-
standing musical organizations
that will appear at the GOOD-
FELLOW FROLIC at Conven-
tion Hall Nov. 23.

Hadassah, Zionists Hold
Joint Pontiac Meeting

The fifth annual Honor Roll
meeting of Pontiac Chapter of
Hadassah was held jointly with
the Pontiac Zionist Organization.
Mrs. Abe Lapides presented the
Honor Roll report. Mrs. Sol
Newhouse, Hadassah president,
greeted the gathering.-
Tom Horwitz, Zionist district
president, introduced Rabbi Har-
old Englander of Israel, formerly
of New York, who described his
experiences in the Jewish State
at the time Jews declared their
independence. •
